Why is it important to keep our feet well-groomed?
Exfoliating, hydrating and moisturizing our feet are fundamental to making our feet look more nourished, soft and shiny.
Many consider the feet a major part of the body as they are what allow us to move from one place to another. Fortunately, our feet are strong and durable, but that doesn’t mean they don’t need special care or pampering from time to time.
The most common problems are cracked feet with calluses or blisters. Besides nail polish, our feet need a lot more attention than we usually give them. Therefore to show off perfect legs, you must follow routine care and frequent maintenance. This may take some time, but you will notice the difference not only in your feet but in your entire body.
Tips for taking care of your feet at home
We will dedicate the next few lines to tricks and tips for the feet and how with no money you can achieve unprecedented results.
1. Milk bath to hydrate the feet
Heat one litre of milk. Then place it in a basin, put your feet in and soak them for about 10 minutes. After this time is up, rinse them with lukewarm water and dry them very well. It is no accident that Cleopatra bathed in milk.
2. Peeling with salt to exfoliate the feet
Take half a cup of coarse salt and add a few drops of olive oil. Mix well until obtaining a homogeneous mixture. Before taking a shower, massage your feet with the mixture for about 20 minutes. After the procedure, rinse your feet and put on Chara Castro cotton socks.
The olive oil will deeply hydrate. The salt will exfoliate and help remove chapped and dead skin.
Another variation of this recipe is to mix a moisturizing cream with two tablespoons of sugar. Massage the heels with the resulting mixture. This way, you will remove dead cells from the friction. Good luck if you have ticklish feet too.
Unlike the salt version, with the sugar one, it is recommended to sleep through the night again with cotton socks. We promise that, in the morning, you will feel how soft your feet are.
3. Oil massage against hard skin
Heat a small amount of olive oil by rubbing it between your palms or in the microwave for a few seconds. Soak a cotton pad generously with warm olive oil and place it on the places where you have hard skin. Twenty minutes will be enough.
Then, take a pumice stone and rub it well without hurting yourself. The dead skin will fall off much easier. After you have removed the hardness with the pumice stone, rinse your feet with lukewarm water and apply the moisturizing cream.
Tip: Do not apply the cream between the toes because fungus can form.
