If you’ve known Chara Castro since the beginning of the brand, you know that we adore crazy socks as much as DIY projects. Today’s article will be in the form of so-called tutorials on DIY: personalized socks.

And do you like to make things with your hands? Maybe you paint or use techniques such as decoupage, make cards? Whether your hobby is do-it-yourself projects or you’re crazy about fashion, customizing socks is a great idea for a different Saturday afternoon activity.

Necessary materials

• For this do-it-yourself project you will need:
• a pair of cotton socks. It is recommended that they be white or another light colour. You can buy a pair of cheap socks or use one of your own.
• paint or felt-tip pens for textiles. On the net, you can find both washable and those that will not be erased after washing. You decide what kind of textile dye to use.
• lace or ribbons for sewing in your favourite colours.
• Swarovski stones or other types of stones for glueing or sewing.
• sequins, feathers.
• applications for glueing with an iron.
• needle, thread, glue, scissors.
• Very good mood and ideas.

How to make personalized socks?

Start customizing socks with stitching details. You can sew lace at the end of the sock in white colour, for example. Here it is important not to tighten the thread too much, so as not to break it when wearing shoes. Add sequins or coloured stones on the thread to cover any imperfections.

Another idea is to write your favourite word with a thread, ie. to embroider socks. You can embroider universal words, such as love, fashion, smile in Bulgarian or English. Use the colours of the rainbow for each letter to achieve a different design.

Decoration with applications

For the decoration with applications, you will need ready-made applications, which you can buy from any shop for needlework or haberdashery.

This idea is very easy to implement. All you have to do is place the applique at the height you want and place a heated iron on the decoration for a minute. Then, check that the whole figure is glued correctly. If not – put the iron for another minute.

Decoration with feathers

Feathers have been quite popular in all types of clothing in the last year. Therefore, we consider it a very original idea to decorate our socks with a strip of feathers. Use feathers in your favourite colour, but if you want to follow the latest fashion, use green or cyclamen feathers.

Also, you can sew them for the end of the sock. Decorate with a few shiny stones for a more luxurious result. And do not hesitate to combine them with a short skirt, white T-shirt and sneakers.
